A slower first three months on the building scene in Prince Edward County than last year, but the Chief Building Official isn’t concerned.
Garry Davis says 132 building permits for projects worth ten-million dollars were issued by the end of March, compared to almost 26-million dollars in construction activity at this time last year.
However, he says a new Canadian Tire Store, Hydro One facility, Shoppers Drug Mart and other development will soon boost the figures.
He is even optimistic last year’s building activity record of 70.6-million dollars will be broken in 2009.
