Prince Edward County Mayor Leo Finnegan hasn’t been able to get the Pastor at the Picton Hospital reinstated.
Audrey Whitney, a United Church Minister and the pastor in Picton for 17 years, was recently fired, saving Quinte Health Care 12-thousand dollars a year.
Finnegan asked the Q-H-C board today (yesterday) to rehire Whitney, but Chair Nancy Malichowski says board members didn’t feel they should interfere with a decision made by administration..
Malichowski says it’s unfortunate the way Whitney was let go, since the board had no notice of her termination..
