Catholic School students in Brighton and Trent Hills will begin school a week earlier than usual this year, and the Public School Board is expected to approve the same school calender tomorrow.
The Peterborough Catholic board approved a September first start to the academic year at its meeting last night, because there wouldn’t be enough days in the calender if classes began on the Tuesday after Labour Day.
The Kawartha-Pine Ridge School Board, which shares busing with the Catholic board, will decide the first day of school at tomorrow night’s regular board meeting.
The Hastings-Prince Edward School Board will also begin the school year a week earlier than usual, on September first.
