A sweeping drug and weapons raid in Belleville and Peterborough has resulted in eight arrests at seven different locations. Two men face charges, including 60-year old Brian Charles Francis of Belleville, after a police takedown on Coleman Street on Wednesday afternoon. The OPP Weapons Enforcement Unit, their drug enforcement unit, Belleville and Peterborough City Police seized cocaine, marijuana, surveillance equipment, a handgun and 2 collapsible batons. It was part of an ongoing investigation into a drug/weapons ring in Belleville and Peterborough. Six of the eight were released unconditionally.
