Outbreaks are now over at three local nursing and retirement homes, but there are new outbreaks at two other facilities.
The respiratory outbreak at Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton and the gastro-intestinal outbreaks at Quinte Gardens and Maple Manor in Belleville ended about a week ago.
However, Hastings-Prince Edward Health Unit Official Carol Snell says respiratory outbreaks are now reported at Picton Manor and Hallowell House near Picton. Twelve of Hallowell’s 93 residents and three staff members have shown symptoms of the illness.
There have been about 22 gastro-intestinal and respiratory outbreaks at nursing and retirement homes in the two counties since November first, twice the number from one year ago.
