Belleville residents spending part or all of the winter in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area have been featured in that city’s newspaper.
A story in the “Sun News” yesterday mentions Rudi Von Michalofski, Hugh Minielly (ma-neely) and Bob Fallat as just a few of the 20 Bellevillians who skip local winters to enjoy the warmer weather.
Many of the people from the friendly city in Myrtle Beach know each other through the Quinte Tennis Club in Belleville, and were attracted to similiar facilities in the South Carolina community.
The president of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce says four to six per cent of the 15-million tourists who visit are from Canada, although that doesn’t include the snowbirds who stay for a longer time.
