Quinte West Council will have to make a decision on whether to go ahead with the overhead bridge project on old highway 2 soon.
11 tenders were received for the project, and the lowest tender was from ACON constuction, at 9 million, 889 thousand dollars. Chair of Quinte Wests’ Public Works Committee Jim Harrison says that’s about 700 thousand dollars over what the city had budgeted.
Harrison hopes Council will deal with the matter as early as Monday, saying the project has been a long time in the works, and it’s time to get it started.
