If you start seeing blue today, it’s because it’s Blue Ribbon of Hope Day. It’s mid-way through the Random Acts of Kindness week in the Quinte area…first launched years ago in honour of 18-year-old Mark Fyke, shot and killed while on spring break in Florida. Fyke’s mother, Chris Macdonald, says people are invited to wear blue ribbons Wednesday (today) as a symbol to end senseless violence. The “kindness citizen of the year” will be awarded on Saturday.
