The price for a garbage bag tag in Quinte West might be going up soon. To cut back on a proposed 13.7 percent increase in it’s waste management budget, Quinte West’s Public Works Committee is recommending cutting the number of opportunities to get rid of large and bulky items to 2 from 4, and increasing bag tags to 2.50 from 2 dollars. Public Works Chair, Jim Harrison. With the changes, the budget should come in at less then last year’s. Quinte West Council has yet to set it’s operating budget for this year.
