The number of children in care with the Hastings Children’s Aid Society has been trending down, and while that may seem like good news, it’s caused the deficit to grow more then expected.
The reason?? Lower revenues.
Hastings CAS now expects to end the fiscal year with a 809 thousand dollar deficit, up from a recent projection of 400 thousand.
The local Children’s Aid Society does not expect to have any cash flow problems in the final quarter, and is looking forward to increased support from the province.
