The Quinte region Water Source Protection Plan has reached a second phase. This is a procedure to protect all the water sources used by municipalities in the Quinte area….whether it be intake pipes or municipal wells. Spokesman Keith Taylor says the plan would be to eliminate threats to the water source such as septic systems too close to wells. Taylor says the province has approved the local assessment report… and public meetings will be held throughout the area this year.
