Tweed is hoping the federal stimulus funding will help finance more upgrading for its arena.
Officials say the facility needs renovating to better accommodate the hockey teams, and the summer events. Recreation Committee spokesman Mo Gunning says the upgrade planned for this year will cost about 400-thousand dollars…but the new heating system will have a payback.. It will be energy efficient and save 35-percent over 10-years. Handicapped accessibility, and larger dressing rooms, will be part of the project.
