Anyone who wants a seat at tonight’s Quinte Health Care board meeting on hospital cuts to reduce a 15-million dollar deficit should get there early.
The meeting, in the Edith Cavell Building at the Belleville hospital, starts at about 6-15, but there is seating for only about one-hundred people.
Q-H-C Official Susan Rowe says unlike public meetings held over the past month on cost-cutting options, only board members can speak at this evening’s meeting. There is extra and free parking in the staff parking lot and behind the Water’s Edge Retirement Home on Bleecker Avenue for people attending tonight’s meeting.
Cuts to the number of beds and other services at the hospitals are part of the plan to reduce the projected 15-million-dollar shortfall.
