The first day of a three day preliminary hearing into the murder of Michelle Noella Barnoski of Warkworth was held yesterday in Cobourg.
A 15 year old youth, one of two people charged, with 2d degree murder, sat quietly in court as 28 exhibits involving the police investigation were admitted. The Crown wants the youth to be given an adult sentence if convicted, and the defense is asking that the trial be done by judge and jury.
The preliminary hearing will be spread over a month. 35 year old Marc Vickers also faces a 2d degree murder charge.
Michelle Barnoski was found buried near her home in Warkworth June 12th.
