The court order to a Belleville property owner, to rehabilitate the contaminated Bakelite property he tore apart several years ago, drags on.
Jim Sinclair was found guilty of environmental charges for digging up the contaminated site on Dundas street east. He was fined 235-thousand dollars and given various deadlines to restore the wetlands and shorelines himself..the latest being mid-March. Quinte Conservation manager Terry Murphy says so far Sinclair has “accomplished absolutely nothing.” He says it will probably go back to the courts to have someone else do the work. Meanwhile Sinclair is out on bail, appealing his conviction on other environmental charges.
