The Executive Director of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is
confident Belleville will soon get a nurse-practitioner led clinic.
Premier McGuinty announced last friday three new clinics are ready to go in
the Windsor area, Sault Sainte Marie and Thunder Bay, the first of 25 such
facilities that will come into operation by 2012. The locations of more will be
unveiled this spring.
R-N-A-O official Doris Grinspun says there are 20-thousand people in the
Belleville area, without family doctors, and she hopes the city will be included
in the next round of nurse-practitioner clinic announcements.
Two Nurse Practitioners and Professors from Loyalist College will meet with
Health Ministry Officials this wednesday to discuss the possibility of an office
in Belleville.
