It will be a lot easier for the public to attend the Quinte Healthcare board meeting deadling with a plan to reduce a projected 15-million-dollar deficit.
Q-H-C Official Susan Rowe says next Wednesday’s meeting at the Belleville Hospital will begin at six o’clock in the evening, rather than its usual time of 10-30 in the morning.
Two board members, Doctors Jonathan Riddell and Sylvaine Duchaine, made the request, saying they would be more available for an evening meeting than one during the day.
Quinte Health Care has softened plans to cut beds and other services at the Trenton and Picton hospitals, although some reductions are still predicted, and it expects to cut 9.4-million dollars, while borrowing over five million, to address the shortfall.
