The infection control measures at the Trenton Hospital are expected to remain in effect this weekend.
Quinte Health Care Official Susan Rowe says ten staff and patients in the Complex Continuing Care Unit who contracted a gastrointestinal illness earlier this week are still showing signs being sick.
She says 48 hours without a new case have to go by before the outbreak can be declared over, but she expects medical staff will wait until the first of the week before making that decision.
Increased cleaning of the unit and other measures which began this week will continue until the outbreak is no longer in effect.
