The Mayor of Quinte West wants a meeting with the Minister of Health as soon as possible.
By a vote of 11 to 1, Council decided to ask for a meeting to discuss how, and if, Trenton Memorial Hospital could operate on it’s own, out of the Quinte Healthcare structure.
Councillor Paul Kyte made the motion, saying Quinte Healthcare seemed to regularily employ “municipal terrorism” against residents, scaring them about health services.
Only Councillor Cassidy voted against a meeting regarding seperation, saying turning the clock back 20 years would not solve the problem. Councillor Alyea said the ongoing QHC saga reminded him of an old country song………Belleville gets the gold, and Picton and Trenton get the shaft.
