A fairly well-behaved crowd at the meeting to discuss possible cuts at the Bancroft Hospital.
Quinte Health Care board member David Golem says about one-hundred people attended last night’s session in L’amable, to learn more about the possible reduction of beds as part of Q-H-C’s deficit-cutting options.
However, Q-H-C President Bruce Laughton said the elimination of four of the hospital’s ten beds couldn’t go ahead unless Alternate Level Care patients can find a Nursing Home.
Golem says there wasn’t the same level of tension at the meeting as there was in Belleville, Trenton and Picton. Another meeting is scheduled for Picton next Tuesday.
