Quinte West Public Works is recommending another speed limit reduction on Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
The committee will ask Quinte West Council, and Belleville City Council, to approve a reduction to 60 kmh from 80 kmh from Grills Road, south to Old Highway 2. There have been 56 accidents in that area over the past few years. Quinte West Public Works believes that a simple reduction in speeds should make the stretch safer, particularily around Moira Street West and Loyalist College. Other options being considered would have been much more expensive.
