Belleville city council has wrapped up the preliminary part of its budget deliberations. Right now the budget, without the education tax, is at 67-point-eight million dollars… a three-point-six percent increase over last year. Mayor Neil says it’s premature to comment on just where it’s going since there are outside agency budgets to come..as well as the Fire Master Plan issues. Yesterday, council added 90-thousand dollars for a frazil ice study, 22-thousand for weed-fighting equipment, and 20-thousand for the recreational facilities Steering Committee.
