The lockdown at Warkworth Institution is over.
A Correctional Service of Canada Official says the restrictions, which began last friday after contraband was found in the medium-security facility, are no longer needed..
The lockdown allowed for an “exceptional search for unauthorized items and contraband,” but the official wouldn’t elaborate on what was found.
Normal institutional operations were suspended during the search, and visits were also cancelled.
