The mayor of Prince Edward County says support for the Picton hospital leaving Quinte Health Care is on a roll. Leo Finnegan, one of hundreds of people at last night’s public meeting at the Picton high school to discuss cost-cutting options, says there was lots of interest in the hospital going on its own. Finnegan says he’s willing to work with Quinte Healthcare to find a solution reducing its 15-million-dollar deficit, but is also open to the idea of the Picton hospital trying to get out of Q-H-C.
