The elementary teachers association president and the Kawartha-Pine Ridge School board have different opinions about the status of contract talks.
Local ETFO President Dave Wing says the two sides are still fairly far apart, with benefit improvements and salaries among the outstanding issues.
However, Board chairperson Diane Lloyd says she’s optimistic a deal can be reached without any disruption to schools.
Teachers could vote to strike this spring if there isn’t an agreement by February 13th.
