Local MPP Leona Dombrowsky took aim at Quinte Healthcare management at the first public meeting on the QHC’s proposed cost cutting options. Dombrowsky says hospitals in Napanee and Campbellford are surviving with the same kind of fudning increases seen at QHC. Dombrowsky told last night’s meeting at BGH she doesn’t believe any of the options presented are adequate and feels doctors and front line healthcare workers should have been involved in coming up with the options. She also wonders if QHC senior administration and the board of directors know how to balance a budget….adding the province has increased funding by $20 million in the last five years.
