The people of Prince Edward County are gearing up to fight proposals to make service cuts at their Picton hospital.
Quinte Healthcare’s three options to help cut 15-million dollars by 2010 include reduction of inpatient beds and eliminating some maternity and special care beds. Mayor Leo Finnegan says this ignores the positive things going on at the hospital and the Family Health Team. Mayor Finnegan says people will have their say at the meeting of Q-H-C members in Picton on Wednesday. He says it only costs five dollars to be a member, and the County has the most members in the Quinte Healthcare Corporation.
