The CEO of the Southeast Local Health Integration Network says some of the recent press coverage on the Quinte Healthcare deficit issue has been misleading.
Paul Huras says published reports saying that cutbacks to hospital funding have to stop are not correct.
Huras says provincial funding for medical care has gone up, by more then the cost of living, every year, but that costs in the system have increased even more.
Huras says organizations are going to have to change as there is only a limited amount of money available.
Public meetings on Quinte Healthcare’s deficit options begin Monday, in Belleville.
