The Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus hopes the federal budget will bring more help to this part of the province.
The Chair, Hastings-Highlands Township Mayor Ron Emond, says the pre-budget submission, sent to Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, contains eight recommendations, ranging from investing in a modern, high-capacity regional broadband network to establishing a forty-million-dollar agricultural innovation fund.
He says Ottawa has to focus on economic development and job creation to find work for the 12-thousand people in Eastern Ontario who’ve lost jobs in the past two years.
