A Harwood man is dead following a collision on his snow machine.
Northumberland OPP say 43-year-old Walter Kalmuk died last night (Jan24) after his snowmobile veered off a trail and struck a tree.
A friend, who had been riding ahead of Kalmuk, found him a short time later he and was rushed to hospital.
He died shortly thereafter.
Northumberland police say this is the fifth snowmobile crash they’ve attended in the past two days…and ask riders to obey the rules of the trails.
Police say alcohol was a factor.
