The Canadian Bankers Association is issuing a 10-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a Belleville bank robber. The man dubbed the “Pace Bandit” held up the Scotiabank at Quinte Mall last February and other banks in the GTA prior to that. York Region Police issued new information after the robber targetted several banks in that area. Police say the man they are after has a collection of hats and sported a beard while robbing six banks in 21 months. Images of the bandit were released at a press conference in Markham yesterday, hoping someone will come forward to reveal his identity. It was on February 13th last year when the suspect walked into the Scotiabank at the Mall and slipped a teller a note declaring he wanted money and had a gun. It’s believed the “Pace Bandit” has been inactive since the Belleville bank heist.
