Two women who taught in Cobourg-area elementary schools are dead following a two-vehicle crash near Peterborough.
Michelle Broomfield, who was 38, taught at Baltimore Public School and 39-year-old Dawn Kernaghan taught at Terry Fox Public School.
They were returning home together after attending a one-day professional development course.
The O-P-P says Kernaghan was driving a car that struck a fully-loaded tractor-trailer (on County Road 28), killing both women at the scene.
The truck driver from Peterborough was not injured.
