A chimney fire in Quinte West has caused $10,000 in damage.
Firefighters responded to the call at 79 Roblin Road at 8:10 this morning (SUN)…and the crew’s captain says they got there in about four minutes.
Captain James Dick says the fire started when a fire in the woodstove spread to a build-up of creosote in the chimney…which then spread to the walls of the house.
Ten firefighters attended the scene…and quickly knocked out the burning walls.
One woman was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
