It was the debris in a dryer-vent that caused a house fire in Trenton.
Quinte West fire crews attended the scene at 17 Pelham Street around eight last night (SAT)…after a Hydro One worker saw flames at the house while doing work across the street.
Quinte West fire chief, John Whalen, says the Hydro One worker was picking up supplies at the Pelham Street power station when he noticed the house across the street was burning.
He reportedly ran over to alert the homeowner, who was working at their computer and unaware of the blaze.
A neighbour called for help while the two suppressed the fire.
Whalen says damage is estimated at 70-thousand dollars.
He says he’s glad there were no injuries and that worker happened to catch the fire before it was too late.
18 firefighters attended the scene.
