The son of a Madoc woman who died with listeriosis is disappointed with the settlement of a class-action lawsuit against Maple Leaf Foods.
The company agreed yesterday to pay between 25-and-27-million dollars in compensation to victims of the listeria outbreak.
Tim Clark, whose mother Frances died on August 25th, says he’s insulted by the amount Maple Leaf put on a human life.
He also says company president Michael McCain probably spent more than that on damage control with television advertisements.
Members of the suit will receive widely varying compensation.
