Case managers who co-ordinate care for people recently discharged from hospitals in the Quinte area have rejected a first contract offer.
The Southeast Community Care Access Centre case managers include registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
TheĀ Ontario Nurses Association says the 160 case managers seeking a first contract with the province service about 10,000 clients a day from offices in Belleville, Bancroft, Selby, Northbrook, Brockville and Kingston.
The association says both sides are now trying to arrange mediation with the Ministry of Labour in an attempt to reach an agreement.
