A sod turning for a close to 3 million dollar Wellbeing Center in Tyendinaga Territory Monday morning.
The Bay of Quinte Mohawks say construction will begin immediately on the Tyendinaga Community Wellbeing Center, which will be located on the York Road, just west of the Quinte Mohawk School. The Wellbeing Center will house several services, such as Mohawk Family Services, and Home Support. Those are now renting in various locations.
Band Council has set aside 1.5 million dollars for the project, while the provincial government has granted 756 thousand dollars. The project should be complete by the end of March.
