A tentative contract settlement has been reached between Quinte West and the union representing the city’s volunteer firefighters.
Ian Dewaard of the Christian Labour Association of Canada says the deal was agreed to on tuesday night, but details won’t be released until both sides have ratified it.
The 125 firefighters aren’t expected to vote until mid-January.
Meanwhile, contract talks for Belleville’s 55 volunteer firefighters, which were stalled because of the new Fire Master Plan, will resume next month.
