The controversial consultant’s report that’s supposed to cut several million dollars in costs at Quinte Healthcare is back on schedule.
The Q-H-C board voted today to re-implement the Murphy Walsh report, which was put on hold a month ago when the board hoped to include it in a provincial reviewer’s study of Q-H-C’s financial situation.
However, the Local Health Integration Network denied that request, and board members debated going ahead with the report, which includes having Registered Practical Nurses assuming some responsibilities now done by R-N’s.
Quinte West Mayor John Williams led the charge against Murphy-Walsh, saying he’s concerned the public doesn’t understand it, but the majority of board members voted to re-establish the report.
