The Trenton woman who was walking a pitbull that attacked and fatally injured a small dog in the Belleville dog park will be out at least 15-hundred dollars.
Sixty-three-year-old Rose Armstrong pled guilty in Belleville court yesterday to three charges under the dog owners’ liability act.
She was fined one-thousand-and-fifty dollars plus surcharges, and was ordered to pay the 400-dollar veterinarian bill of the other dog owner. Armstrong also must make sure three dogs she owns are leashed at all times when outside her home, and she cannot own a pitbull for the next year.
She was charged by Belleville City police after a pomeranian-shitzu was mauled by her friend’s pitbull at the dog park on September 18th, and the little dog had to be put down because of its injuries.
