Down to the wire for the United Way of Quinte.
Executive Director Julia Gosson says 80 per cent of the 1.65-million dollar fundraising goal has been pledged so far, a total of 1.3-million, but there are only 16 days left for people to meet this year’s charitable income tax receipt deadline.
She says the United Way received over 300-thousand-dollars more in requests by the December first funding application deadline, meaning two-million dollars would be needed to fund all of them.
The campaign doesn’t officially close until January 22nd, and some organizations, including the Belleville Bulls passing the hat at a home game, plan to run events in the New Year.
