A Toronto company will determine whether Brighton and Trent Hills will be part of a Northumberland County fire dispatch and communications network.
County council awarded a 43-thousand-dollar contract to K-V-A Consulting yesterday, the lowest of four tenders received.
County fire coordinator Al Mann says K-V-A will complete the study by the end of April on whether the fire departments in all seven municipalities will be dispatched by one provider.
They now rely on four different dispatch centres.
