Local Mayors and some other Quinte Healthcare board members don’t like it….but, officials from the Local Health Integration Network expect the Murphy-Walsh report to be implemented immediately. LHIN Chair Georgina Thompson told a public meeting in Belleville, yesterday, a reviewer…which still hasn’t been hired…will be looking at a plan put together by QHC administration to find savings within the four local hospitals. QHC Board member Nancy Malachowski says the board isn’t trying to be “defiant”…but, says everyone should take a step back and review the entire operation including Murphy-Walsh. LHIN CEO Paul Huras says implementing the consultants findings now will immediately start driving down debt. QHC’s deficit is expected to be between 7-and-8-million dollars at the end of this fiscal year.
