Brighton Mayor Chris Herrington will remain on as Warden in Northumberland County a little longer than expected. The election of the new warden has been deferred to the New Year after the only nominee, Port Hope Mayor Linda Thompson, was rushed to hospital overnight and was unable to attend. Herrington says they received an urgent email early this morning, but it sounds as if everything is well under control. Warden Herrington will retain her position until January 6th.
