The city of Belleville will make another try for legal services rather than take the only responding firm it has received so far. Councillor Jackie Denyes told city council last night Templeman Menninga is a renowned firm but legal services are expensive and the city should try again. She said the city “shouldn’t be held to ransom” by just one firm. Council decided that it would also consider bids from law firms that are representing other municipalities as well. Robert Ord, who represented the city of 25-years, will retire from that position at the end of the month.
