Prince Edward-Hastings M-P Daryl Kramp has asked the Indian and Northern Affairs Minister for help in reviving the Culbertson Tract land claim negotiations.
Kramp met with Chuck Strahl, and has requested a meeting with the federal negotiator, Vivian Bercovici (ber-ko-veech).
The talks between Ottawa and the Bay of Quinte Mohawks broke off in June when the government refused to buy land to transfer back to native control. It would only offer money to purchase properties in the 923-acre tract, if and when they are put up for sale.
Kramp hopes his meeting with Bercovici will lead to the eventual resumption of negotiations involving both sides.
