Recently re-elected Warden of Hastings County Ron Emond says he’ll be pushing the Ministry of the Attorney General to include all courts in a new consolidated courthouse planned for Belleville. During his inaugural address yesterday Emond said the “one-stop shopping” facility, which presently fails to include “the busiest court of all, is being barred from locating with all of the others. He says that’s simply wrong and with support from local Judges they will push the Attorney General to change its direction. Emond also pledged to increase the number of longterm care beds…noting the waiting list is well over 600 in the County.
