It’s been a Christmas tradition for nearly 50-years in Belleville….but, not this year. The massive display of lights at Tom Gavey Alemite Park in east-end Belleville has been left in storage because of its deteriorating condition and will be replaced next year with a bigger and brighter display at Meyer’s Pier. The light show was started by the Foster Family whose sone Billy was killed in a car crash on Christmas Eve in the late 1950’s and was taken under City control in the 1990’s. City resident Tracey Buckley contacted our newsroom yesterday when she noticed the popular display wasn’t up for the first time in decades
