A final decision has been made on the Murphy Walsh report being included in the provincial reviewer’s study of Quinte Healthcare.
Southeast LHIN C-E-O Paul Huras told our newsroom on Wednesday the consultant’s cost-cutting program would not be part of the examination of the four hospitals’ financial situation.
That refusal appeared to have softened a little yesterday, but Huras now says there is little to no chance Murphy-Walsh, which includes transferring some Registered Nurses’ responsibilities to Registered Practical Nurses, will be in the review.
Quinte Healthcare officials and local mayors are expected to discuss Murphy-Walsh, whose recommendations remain on hold, when they meet with LHIN representatives next tuesday.
