The “British Empire Cheese Show” could have just been called the “Empire Cheese Show” – so many awards were showered on the already beaming Empire Cheese and Butter Company of Campbellford.
Kevin Gibson, master cheesemaker at Empire, says he couldn’t be happier with his newest award: Grand Champion at yesterday’s event…. at Ramada Inn Belleville
The Empire Cheese team took home the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion titles at the 2008 Royal Winter Fair last month.
Other big local winners at the national competition included Saputo Trenton and Fifth Town, from Cressy.
